    Ice Cream! She Screams

    After yesterdays walking marathon Lynnie has requested a short, easy walk with a Hocking’s ice cream included. So far we have walked a fair bit of the Tarka Trail, without making a dent in the whole 180 miles. As the name suggests the trail follows the route taken by Tarka the Otter in Henry Williamson’s 1927 book of the same name. The novel is highly acclaimed but I have not read it, Lynnie has and tells me to add it to my reading list.

  • Bovington Camp

    Bovington Camp

    I recall that as a nipper in the 60’s I went on an outing with the Judd’s to Bovington Camp for the open day. I remember the excitement at watching the tanks go through their routine. Probably at the same time Lyn was there with her family, it was part of her Uncle Len’s itinerary for his holiday in Dorset. Lyn talks about being in Len’s traveller van, along with her father (Tim), mother (Miki) brother John and her Auntie Dot and cousins Robbie and Elaine.
