If I am totally honest there are many things that I use whilst not understanding how they work. When it comes to things like the car I comprehend the principles of the combustion engine and the mechanics of how it is constructed. However, I would not for one minute consider doing anything more technical than cleaning it (occasionally), putting fuel in it and checking fluid levels and tyre pressures.

A Jamabout on the Quantocks
I am walking on my own today whilst Lynnie meets up with my cousin Maureen for lunch and a catch up in Taunton. There is never any doubt where I will head for a walk when close to Taunton; I’m off to the Quantock Hills again.

Back on the Quantock Hills
Our first trip of the year and we are back on familiar territory. Those who have followed our blog for a while will know that at various times we have lived in Taunton; Somerset is a favourite location of ours. So when deciding where to kick off on our 2017 travels Wellington seemed an obvious choice. It gives us both a chance to catch up with old friends and do some cracking walking.

On the Thames and Severn Canal from Sapperton to Chalford

Arriving In Cirencester
One thing I am not too keen on is traipsing around shops buying Christmas presents. Its not buying presents that bothers me, over the years Lynnie has been spoilt with a wide selection of gifts that she never knew she wanted. I have become attuned to picking up the hints and then sourcing the required items.

A Wet Day By The Sea
Today is the last full day of this brief trip and heavy rain showers are forecast for later, so I wait for the awning to dry out and take it down. I manage it just in time; before the first of the storms blows in. There is nothing worse than trying to dry out a wet awning when back home. When we are touring its never a problem, as it is always back up within an hour or two, but trying to dry it at home is always a challenge.

After yesterday’s walk along the West Sussex coastline we are keen to tick off another stretch. This time we decide to head east, our starting point is Ferring, just a short drive from our site at Littlehampton.
